Employee Benefits Consulting
There is no doubt that employee recruiting and retention can be a major budget line item for any company, especially when said retention isn’t what it needs to be. According to 2023 Gallup poll, the cost of replacing an employee can now range from one-half to two times the employee's annual salary. At HIS-NW, we engage in conversations to help clients discover the balance between the cost of a benefits plan and value that plan can create when it comes to attracting and retaining quality employees inside your organization. We provide creative benefits consulting with the ultimate goal of striking a balance between spendable dollars and the future savings that are a natural byproduct of both recruiting and retaining quality team members.
Corporate Health/Medical, Dental and Vision Plans
We specialize in providing these plans for small to medium-sized companies, typically up to 200 employees. The primary reason we target this size is so we can provide a heavy amount of personalization and customization in creating the best possible solution.
As we walk through the initial creation of your plan, our goal is to become an extension of your team so we can be your go-to for all the insurance claims that occur once your package is in place. We want to be your “benefits guru” and your one-stop center for solutions…and we work to provide the same for each of your team members. This is why we are in business as an independent broker. We have positioned ourselves to spend more time directly serving our clients, and every client we have is considered a BIG client. In short, we thrive on professional friendship.
Section 125 and Consumer-Driven Health Plans
As you may know, A section 125 plan is the only means by which an employer can offer employees a choice between taxable and nontaxable benefits without the choice causing the benefits to become taxable. A plan offering only a choice between taxable benefits is not a section 125 plan. An example of a 125 is a Flexible Spending Accounts (HRA/FSA/HSA). When this type of plan is being considered, HIS-WA brings value in staying up to the minute on the minutia of these plans so you as the client don’t fall out of compliance in the plan management. As the regulations surrounding these plans seem to have become almost a living document, you can trust us to remain aware of what impacts your particular plan and set in motion whatever adjustments are needed.
In addition to maintaining compliance, we also implement creative strategies to use all the tools at our disposal in compiling plans that combine 125’s with traditional medical plans. Clients who have utilized HIS-NW within this realm have recognized significant savings with their benefits plan while still meeting the needs of their team members.
Group Disability & Life Insurance
In Washington State, FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) covers up to 90 days of your work-related disability. Because of that, we focus on Long-Term Disability Care that kicks in after state coverage has run out. Incorporating this offering into your employee benefits plan is yet another ancillary benefit that can enhance your overall benefits offering and shows how much you value your employees. While you can’t predict disability or death, you can certainly provide affordable benefits to help those who face one of these unexpected challenges.
And, while life insurance is well-established and understood, we still dig into this as part of your package to make sure that both you and your team members are receiving the most value.
